Good grief! The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is at it again. Long ago this $450-million fund-raising machine, posing as a public-interest law firm, had self-appointed itself to be the watchdog of “hate groups,” being the last word in all things extreme. It releases information through “Intelligence Reports” and its annual “The Year of Hate and Extremism.” The SPLC received its claim to fame for noteworthy cases against the KKK. A reading of the cases reveal indeed egregious actions against American citizens, acts that surpass the scruples of all decent people. But today because there is so little of this shocking racist extremism, the SPLC has to redefine extremism to include healthy political engagement by conservatives in order to keep liberals donating money to suppress the mythological ever growing threat of conservative hate and extremism, a classic case of projection if there ever were one.
While this year’s list includes the usual KKK and neo-Nazi suspects, the vast majority of the 1,200 “hate” organizations are patriotic, Christian, and family-centered. Organizations such as Eagle Forum, American Family Association, Education Veritas, and Clay Clark’s Rewaken America are on the “hate map.” Frankly, because of its absurdity for redefining what is an extremist group, SPLC has lost all of its credibility years ago. I cannot improve on the words of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz who states, “The SPLC is a hateful, bigoted, and despicable organization.” Precisely.
In reality, if one’s organization does not receive the coveted award of “hate group” by the SPLC, then it means the members are not making much of an impact against the Woke/Marxist agenda. To be designated a hate group really is a badge of honor. One of the latest organizations to receive the prestigious award of hate is Moms for Liberty. According to the SPLC website, “Despite their efforts to seize control of school boards, rewrite curricula and determine which reading materials are appropriate for all students, Moms for Liberty is simultaneously advocating for the total abolition of the U.S. Department of Education and a migration from the public school model.” But wait! Who for goodness sake started this fight? It was the Woke/Marxist mafia going after innocent kids, purposely defiling their minds and hearts. Well, it looks like a bunch of really angry mama bears are starting to fight back and will not stop until they beat the threat into a bloody pulp. In other words, the SPLC is afraid of Moms for Liberty, as well as all the other anti-woke groups which are active and educating others with truth.
So why should anyone, particularly home educators, care what this demented, filthy “public-interest” gang does or says? The central concern is SPLC is joined hip-and-thigh with the powers that be. The visitor logs at the White House reveals that Susan Corke of SPLC visited with John Picarelli of the National Security Council on January 6, 2023. Its “Intelligence Report” is distributed far and wide to sheriff, police, and other law enforcement agencies. Simply expressing one’s concerns to a school board can now be considered “domestic terrorism.” The SPLC remains a dangerous weapon in the hands of the wrong people. While those who are quietly living their lives and raising their children could not care less, the SPLC still has influence over governmental busybodies.
Unless these evil people are checked, I have no doubt that the SPLC will eventually list every home school in America as a hate and an extremist group. As the technology quickly converts our cities and towns into beta-smart cities with constant surveillance, home schools will certainly be designated as the worst domestic terrorists of all—the nuclear family with a mom and a dad instructing their children with a Christian worldview, reading classical literature, teaching the tenets of liberty and equality, and learning to think. I certainly do not support the public schools one iota. However, parent organizations such as Moms for Liberty which are trying to set things straight in the public arena deserve home educators’ support with prayer, fellowship, and money. Currently we are allies fighting a soft war where the weapons used are money and words. But just like in hard wars where bullets are used, there will be casualties. Remember, our common enemy against all goodness, righteousness, and children is the arch deceiver Satan himself. May God rebuke Satan and, by the divine power of God, be cast into hell.
